Art high tech
I've been working with high technology equipment for many years. This
equipment consists of various electronic elements with unique
aesthetic qualities and textures which I call 'personalities'. I
started having ideas and visions of strange structures and a their
unique positioning on a two dimensional and three dimensional plane.
During my lifetime electronics made a huge leap in advancement and
development. The first time I have envisioned those elements in
different form was at the age of ten. I didn't understand what it was
but i had a fierce desire to find out. This desire awakened my mind
and pulled me into the world of high technologies leading me not only
to pursue electronic engineering as a profession, but also use this
language in my creative process. The creation of these art works
allows me to "fall back into childhood", by playing and rearranging
those pieces into a different aesthetic order.
Anatoly Sergeevich Karpov was born in 1947 in St.-Petersburg, Russia.
He has graduated the Radio Engineering College.He worked as the radio technician at the Scientific Institute of St. Petersburg. Anatoly served three years in the Soviet army. Then he graduated the St.-Petersburg Forest Technical academy and postgraduate study. He operated the automatics department in the Forest Technical Academy. He also worked in the laboratory, was the scientist, and the senior lecturer. He has earned the thesis for a doctor's degree and has a scientific degree, Phd.
Anatoly Karpov has developed some projects in Russia. There was a number of publications about his work in various magazines, and three interviews on TV.
After emigration to the USA, he has continued working in this direction as possibilities have considerably increased.
